Allied Event, June 4: Second annual Kabir Festival in the greater Boston area

The Kabir Society of America along with other supporting organisations is holding its second Kabir Festival on Sunday, 4 June 2023, from 4 – 7 pm, at Waltham City Hall in the greater Boston area in Massachusetts, USA.

Encouraged by the support of the community to make it a success last year, the organisers are calling on the Southasian community and friends to join again this year.

“We want to affirm the message of love, humanity, peace and solidarity of Kabir Das ji in these trying times,” says Jaspal Singh, a banker-turned-philosopher and peace activist who has been involved in bringing Southasians in the area together for several decades.

The programme includes musical and cultural presentations inspired by the poetry and thoughts of Kabir Das, presented by community members.

Support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council makes it possible to make the festival free and open to the public. The local Southasia community will provide home-cooked food for those attending the festival.

Anyone with questions or wishing to contribute in some way is invited to contact Sangeeta Prasad, email: kabirsocietyofamerica@gmail.com.
