Oct 26: Special screening of film ‘Chittagong’ in Boston

BOSTON: The Boston South Asian Coalition and the Southasia Peace Action Network will hold a special screening this Sunday of ‘Chittagong’, Bedabrata Pain’s debut film. The 2012 film brings to life the true story of the revolutionary students, led by their teacher, rising up against British colonial rule in 1930s in Chittagong, East Bengal. The raid on the armoury ignited the imagination of the people of Southasia to rise up and throw off the 200-year old colonial yoke.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director, Bedabrata Pain.

Come for the film, stay for the conversation and reflections on a movement that helped shape revolutionary history.
