Joy of Urdu is a volunteer-run, bilingual organisation promoting Urdu language and literature, with Reading Group Chapters around the world. It is one of the 130 organisations that have endorsed the Sapan Founding Charter.
Also an endorser of the Sapan Founding Charter, Dr Arfa Sayeda Zehra, a distinguished scholar of history and Urdu Literature, passed away in Lahore, 10 November 2025. Professor Emerita, Iqra University, and Chief Patron and Advisor of Joy of Urdu, her passing leaves bereft countless students, fans, and followers around the globe besides her friends and family.
