Event, Oct 29: Refugee Crisis in Southasia

The Southasia Peace Action Network, Sapan, will host a webinar on the Refugee Crisis in Southasia on Sunday, 29 October 2023.

Southasia is home to roughly three million refugees. The region’s history of colonialism, low economic development, and intra- and inter-state conflicts have contributed to the large-scale refugee movement and the lack of capacity to address the problem. The latest flood of Rohingya migrants in Bangladesh and Afghan refugees in Pakistan adds to humanitarian concerns in the region.

WHAT CAN WE DO?

Through this upcoming discussion with area experts we aim to develop practical insights and suggestions to guide activities to bring about peace and stability in the region and ease the hardship of refugees.

Date: Sunday, 29 October 2023

Time: 10:00 am ET / 7:00 pm PKT / 7:30 pm IST / 7:45 pm NPT / 8:00 pm BST
