Event, Nov 12: Global Virtual Vigil

Harness the power of collective prayer/meditation

Call to participate: #be4peace

What: Meditate or pray for peace. Or just Be.
When: Sunday, 12 November 2023, between 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Duration: 10-15 min
Where: In your timezone, wherever you are

The Southasia Peace Action Network calls for an interfaith global vigil this Sunday, 12 Nov., to envision/pray for an end to the violence at home and elsewhere, for a ceasefire in Gaza  and Ukraine, and hostages and child prisoners to be freed.

Anyone can join regardless of their faith — or lack thereof — and focus on positive energy, love, and compassion.

Sunday is Diwali, mythically a day of peace. Many may be at church during that time, at a protest for peace, or at a family lunch.

How to participate:

  • Set a timer – earmark 10-15 minutes wherever you may be between 10 am-12 noon in your time zone.
  • You may be alone with family and friends or in a religious congregation of any faith.
  • Take 10-15 minutes to breathe, pray, or meditate in whichever way you choose, and envisage an end to violence at home and abroad. You can pray, tap, chant, or just be. Be for peace. #Be4Peace

Invite friends, family, and co-workers to join. Post on social media and share with contacts.
